This is a nice plug for Psych Nursing with the realistic explanation of how one becomes a “Psych Nurse.” I am the Director of an Inpatient Psych unit located within a large (by WV standards) inner city hospital. After doing this job for more years than I care to admit, and after having been a School teacher before becoming an RN, it is my opinion that it takes at least two years of full time working in the field to begin to understand and actually grasp what it is to be a psych nurse.

Or, a person does not have to go into the RN program just the RPN program. I am done my first year in June :). Regina, SK is where I am situated at the moment.
